Tuning into Your Body: A Mindful Exploration

There's an endless amount of reasons to come to therapy. Yet there are underlying themes that I notice in my practice; the desire to live freer, fuller lives, making sense of our history, habits, and patters to create a more congruent self, remembering how to regulate our nervous systems so we can be more open and in deeper relationship -- to ourselves and others. We open the doors to healing and transformation by learning how we organize around experience, increasing communication between our different parts, and allowing ourselves to receive the nourishment that we are longing for.

 

My practice uses Hakomi as its foundation. Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy is a method which can be described as assisted self-study. It’s an invitation to compassionately and curiously notice your present-moment experience, gaining awareness of the unconscious habits and beliefs that automatically create and maintain the person you are today. Together, we will co-create a safe space in which limiting beliefs, thoughts, and habits can be integrated, allowing for a more nurturing and whole way of being.​

My weekly sessions with Yoav have sparked the most profound and unexpected shifts in my mind, body, and spirit. From as early as our first two sessions, I felt safe enough to dive deeply into vulnerable spaces I had long avoided. His Hakomi approach has been more impactful than any modality I’ve explored in my 3-4 years of dedicated healing and personal growth.
